Hi Guys, Something a little different today: every year for my birthday, my friend's mum, Jan, bakes the cake for my party. Jan is amazingly good at cake decorating, and this year when she asked me what I wanted it to look like, I asked if she could do my favourite Walkman, the Sony WM-35. Here is the result! Pretty impressive, right! It's so detailed - even the tiny screws on the bottom of the door attaching the door to the internal metal hinge are there! I appreciate that strictly speaking this isn't a Walkman, but for some reason I couldn't find a cake section on the forum... A future addition, maybe, Hugo @walkman archive? Henry Side note: I have another WM-35 en route for spares needed for a minor repair on my existing unit
I loved this idea. It is amazing how much detail we can see in this picture. I cannot believe it is a cake.
That cake is amazing, it took me a while to work out which walkman was the cake in the first picture! It must be nice to have people close to you who support you with your interest in walkmans... Anyway, hope you had a great birthday!
Thanks, Boodokhan! I don't think you'd much enjoy listening to it if you plugged your headphones into it Thanks, Hugo Thanks Thanks, Chris. I'm not sure support is the right word. Tolerate, maybe? Cheers, it was great Thanks, Bronco Now that could have been interesting... Henry
I cannot wait to see Jan do a Boombox or how about the inside of walkman !!!!!! She is amazingly good. She even has the smallest details on the circle on the plastic door .Happy Birthday Henry ps a DD111 in red would be cool as well or a TPS-L2
We'll see what I can get for my 19th... I'd rather have a DD III or a TPS-L2 than a cake anyday though! Henry
only saw this fred now - don't know what to say - i'm living close to german Documenta-town Kassel - but now THIS is ART
