Nice tapes. I enjoy Nat King Cole from time to time and it's so relaxing to hear...

After listening to all them I can say they aren't worth your money. I'm sorry to say, but that is the truth regarding the quality of these cassettes. And I'm not being a snob as if I expected a true high-end recording. I have done better recordings with my SR6 boombox back in the 90s.
The cassette and the housing are of fair quality , The recording quality is about 5/10 but with some big mistakes. Hopefully the price is according with the quality...
    I'll post a review soon...

Or maybe made with non professional machines, by not enough skilled operators...

It may be of course...I haven't actually heard any of the new released cassettes yet...OTOH I assume Kissability records haven't true operators but very enthusiastic classmates doing the job after they leave school everyday. But a non professional job don't must mean a bad job if they do things right.
Taking that thoughts apart, report us the yours about the listening; I am really very curious!

I crossed a few emails with Jen, the girl who runs this label and the conversation was pretty weird. I finally could get the info I was asking for: "who records that?". As she said, the recording is made by: https://www.bandcds.co.uk/

I've purchased the Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix Vol. 1 cassette. It sounds very good; it's recorded on 120uS / Type I bias tape. I've recorded a similar playlist from the MP3s they give as a digital download once you purchased it onto a Maxell 70uS / Type II bias with Dolby S, correct record gain and bias calibration and correct +6dB peak levels. It sounds fantastic, yet it lacks the very analogue-like bottom-end the original has. I've had better fortune with another Maxell 120uS / Type I bias, again with Dolby S and all of the above. I think this is due to the fact that most of the original masters are old or the MP3's were ripped from less performant media - I can clearly hear tape hiss at the beginning/end of several songs in the playlist, so maybe the regular Type I media is closer to the original master than a more performant Type II.

Either way, that doesn't detract from the fun of listening to the original cassette on my trusty Walkman or a deck, it sounds very good. Here's a link to a video of the replication house who did this:

These are not new releases indeed, but they are good music!
Maybe you are interested in some mixtape swapping

    Hi, Hugo,

I am using cassettes as a sort of a meditation instrument; the process of choosing which songs go on the mix and their order is very fast on e.g. my iPhone / iPad or computer. However, when recording to tape you are "stuck" with the final product and the only way to undo it is to re-record a different playlist. Since that takes anywhere between 60 and 110 minutes (depending on your chosen victim :reelspin:) it should be time well spent to be enjoyable for days on end afterwards. So it goes back to that mediation process... and I've been doing this for quite a while now.

    I'd love mixtape swapping :)

That's the kind of thing I love of analog.

Then you must look into the Mixtape exchange subforum...

First cassettes I ever bought that are not new releases (got Prince + Wham! for less than a buck at a flea market, am proud >u<)

New releases, got The Lost Tapes in a limited edition CD + cassette combo. Awesome Mix Vol. 1 isn't the nicer release with the track list on the back, very disappointed :(
