I think that should read "Monster Introduces Large Bluetooth Speaker" Why no Radio ? I recently bought a £3 MP3 player that has a fairly decent FM Radio in it. "Like its predecessors, the Monster Blaster is a hefty speaker system that can be carried on a listener’s shoulders." Boomboxes were much more than that, offering self contained Playback and Recording and in many examples many more features such as Mike Mixing Inputs. Even Aldi's recent £30 "Boombox offered the basics, as does the Bumpbox (with a modern twist). I can see a market for this and maybe it sounds nice but calling it a Boombox is like calling a Motorbike a Motorhome because they both have an engine and wheels.
Yes, bbox w/o cassette spinner should go under different name: i-FU dock! Lo-Fi and Digital is a bad mix...
Times have changed and today this would be considered anti-social, it’s bad enough when people are playing music out loud from their mobile phones.
It depends on where music is being played. On Friday night at my local swimming pool there is a Synchronised Swimming Club using half the pool. They use a small portable PA but something like this might work just as well. I can't see headphones working with Synchronised swimming The same applies to any exercise/ aerobics/Zumba etc class.
