    Check today's post from @TooCooL4 : you won't find anything better than that! If its still available,... the only reason I did not snatch it (whatever the price) is because I am bidding on two bboxes at eBay and Yahoo-Japan and my Boss is WATCHING me :fisch

    Yes, and sorry that I missed your budget: DC2 restored by Dottore Walkman does not fit the bill, sorry!!

    high end Sony walkman include :
    - DD9 (best sound quality) , - D6C, DC2
    The price range for above walkman units in excellent working condition is higher than your price range.
    you might find a D6C or a DC2 without accessories and probably with some cosmetic issues with your price range

    You should be more specific about the walkman you are looking for , like:

    Do you need a recorder function?
    Does it need to be cosmetically perfect?
    Can you restore/ repair common walkman issues? like changing belt

    That is a matter of opinion :wink:, for me it's D6C => DC2 => DD9 and I have all 3 units.

    Aiwa hs-g600 went for £60 this morning on eBay. There’s bargains out there if you are patient!

    I want a slim walkman with metal casing, like the wm-ex line. Just a player not recorder. In great condition with no major dammage.

    Among the slim walkman units with metal casing Sony EX series, Panasonic slim series ( like RQ-SX32/52, SX10/20... ) are more common/ available in the market. In my opinion Sony EX series are better option since their maintenance is easier and they are more durable. It is very difficult to change belt on Panasonic slim walkmans. for AIWAs it is hard to find one without capacitor issues. Sanyo JJ-p4/5 are also available in the market.

    Sony EX series as you mentioned are good selection based on what you want. There are different type of EX walkman units. some need special headphone adapter and in some of them you can use regular headphone jack. In my opinion do not get the one that needs special adapter.
