Looking around the shops 42" now seems to be considered to be a bedroom TV. A big display in Currys says "Just because it is a second TV doesn't mean it has to be small". A story from over ten years ago. My then girlfriends Brother in law bought a 56" Plasma on Ebay for their huge lounge. Before that they had a 37" 4-3 CRT that looked like a Goldfish Bowl. When they collected the Plasma it was from a small Miners Cottage in Wales. The original purchaser used his friends staff discount to buy the largest TV Comet stocked back then. When he got it back to his tiny home he realised that hadn't been the smartest move.
p.s 85" is for the bedroom. This is what you need for the lounge https://www.samsung.com/uk/tvs/qled...VFODtCh2iDwLWEAQYBCABEgLFXfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds A £67000 premium for the extra 13" though.
