Everyone seemed to have the the little round ones over here in the 70's, they were so different and colorful than most transistor radios at the time.
Funny radios - I've seen on of those "doughnuts" on Ebay recently while scanning for National Panasonic's.
The Panasonic Toot-a-Loop (yes that really is its name) https://www.theatlantic.com/technol...st-wearable-the-panasonic-toot-a-loop/372443/ While looking for pictures I found this commercial for the 8 track player Sanyo were obviously thinking along the same lines. Back when one would have cost me over a months pocket money I remember seeing these in the local department store https://www.ebay.co.uk/c/2210454262 https://storycase.co.uk/radio/radio/sanyo-dice-radio-rp-1711/ still more than I could justify for an AM only radio
Yes, I've seen Dynamite before - also funny looking - it reminds me of an induction machine for remote detonating. This pic is from Old S2G I believe.
Never saw one myself... until I got a copy of Disco Fever from The 70s Preservation Society. If you think that much for an AM radio was much, try saving half of your lunch money for six weeks to cover only half the cost of a cheap, portable CD-player. ($69.00: Cheap!) Hey! Those are the two colors I have! Hopefully, I'll them in ALL the colors they came.
Those cassette decks are rather reminiscent of the ones Fisher-Price offered... but what I'm curious about is those portable phonographs! I wonder if they're compatible with 12" pressings?
For the ultimate in 1970s Panasonic go to the bottom of this article. The Sanyo Phonosphere is worth checking out as well but looks better in other colours such as the classic 1970s burnt orange. https://thevinylfactory.com/features/space-age-record-players-stereos/
