Hi, recently I bought 5 maxell 90 minute blank tapes. I opened one and put it in my walkman. I slide the record button as suggested in user manual It flashed record for 2 second but after all no response. It doesnt start recording. Am I supposed to press other buttons at the same time or is there a diferent way to start recording. I cannot find any guides on internet about recording with a walkman so I am here.
Hi, you are operating your Walkman correctly, once you have slid the record button and rec appears on the display it should start recording automatically after 2 secs. Does it play ok? Silly question but was the tape inserted correctly with A side facing up?
It plays tapes just fine. But it doesnt do anything when I slide record. Just 2 seconds of rec appears than nothing happens. Am I supposed to hold it or something like that cus its so unlogical.
Well holding the button doesnt help. User guide says just slide it and it will record in 2 seconds. I thing the switches on top thats reads write protection maybe not working correctly. All of the other functions are working fine. There is a photo of the inside maybe you can spot sonething. BTW I tried different cassettes with write protectors intact but it didnt work on those too.
The yellow side tabs are essential for recording ... if the tabs are there it will be the micro switch that does not work well
