Looking for some cleaning strips to tidy up the VCR I bought recently I looked what was available on Ebay and bought this for under £20 "Buy it Now". As described in the listing it is 99% complete. If ever I need to splice a cassette i now have the tool but will probably get some new tape. I think some of the stuff in the bottom of the case might be additions. The 1/2p on the price of the cotton buds dates them to before 1984. BIB was probably the best known make in the UK for record cleaning cloths etc. I didn't realise they were part of Multicore Solders, a brand that is still going but which was bought by German adhesives giant Henkel a few years ago.
You probably could, but if you look at the instructions on the back they are actually for tape head cleaning etc, with a pivoted handle provided to allow you to reach awkwardly positioned heads.
