Hi everyone. Can someone please tell me the model of headphone that came with the Sony TC-D3 Walkman. In instruction manual it just states - headphones (open air type). Thank you.
I don't see one pictured with headphones, maybe you had to buy them separately. Nothing is mentioned on Walkman Central https://walkmancentral.com/products/wm-d3
These are the headphones in the accessory part of the Walkman Catalog that has the WM-D3 (which also had the D6C next to it). I would expect the MDR-CD7 to be the correct model but the MDR-E262 is pictured with it in another catalog. https://www.stereo2go.com/topic/ind...8038517135554412&board_oid=193392314111653483
Hi Mr X. Thanks for reply. I found the same thing when I looked. Strange that they say in supplied accessories open headphones.
While I was looking for headphones that were paired with disc drive walkmans for the overview in the Walkman chat area, I noted for the D3 the MDR-W20L/B. Source: service manual front page. Unfortunately the provided headphones are not always listed in the service manuals, too easy to complete the D-line overview .
Hi Emiel. Thanks for that. When looking at the box there doesn't look like there's enough room for open headphones. Only enough space for the folding type headphones. Maybe here in U.K. no headphones were supplied. I bought my TC-D3 here in England and on the list you supplied it says TC-D3 in France. Curious. Thanks again for information.
I interpreted the country/market list as follows: the unit was only sold as TC-D3 in UK and France, in the rest of the world it was sold as WM-D3. The units are therefor almost exactly the same, bar the exterior housing with the model number on it. Whether or not there were different SKUs with and without headphones is a question mark as I could not find any evidence. Can you share some photos of the box?
Hi Emiel. Sorry did not read properly. Cannot see how open phones would fit in that box. Even tight for folding type.
Mint condition indeed, very nice! I only have a WM-D6C with box and accessories. The headphones are stored underneath the unit. I'll upload a picture later today.
As promised, a picture of the WM-D6C in box with headphones: I just noticed that on the box it says Stereo Cassette Recorder, while on the device Stereo Casssette-Corder.
Very nice Emiel. Nice to see your headphone foam is still intact. Strange because on my d-6c they have disintegrated but with my d-c2 still in tact. Storage condition I suppose.
Unfortunately not storage, I recently bought replacement pads and installed them.. although I don’t use these headphones since they lack a bit of bass according to my preference. I prefer my IEMs .
Like you iv'e never used the supplied phones always preferred my v-700's while listening at home. When out and about the EX-500LP.
