Just poking around their archived website, it looks like there were making boomboxes up into the 2000's. Post any stuff you find, a lot of the links are broken. https://web.archive.org/web/20050208015324/http://henghuihk.com/index2.asp
It looks like a newer version of the website but the products are still pretty old. http://szhenghui.appliances-china.com/Index.php
1999 was when jvc started making the kaboom, the last decent boomboxes ever made imho....i just bought another jvc kaboom the rv nb1....one of many i have had over the years, honestly with one of these it's not necessary to own a hifi
Mine was made in Indonesia, year 2001. They've got very good bass, but personally I think he mids and treble are nowhere near the precision and detail you get from a JVC M90 or an Aiwa TPR-955
Thanks Reli....they may have been made in different places..........there have been at least 15 different models made....i agree the m90 has better highs but i would choose one of these over the over rated and over priced m90 any day and we all know i love m90's....as far as i know the first kaboom was the jvc rd md5 made in 1999 which i no longer have as i'm not a fan of mini disk and hardly use cd....they still make kabooms to this day which is a huge credit to jvc imho to give you an example of over pricing on the m90 etc i only paid £120 all in for my NB1 that also plays mp3's on cd...so that is a no brainer imho...my newer kaboom was £180 all in boxed brand new but is about 10 years old
Does JVC still make anything ? I recall that they (or maybe Hitachi) was one of the first Japanese brands to licence out their name to be stuck on whatever Curry's were trying to sell that month. https://www.which.co.uk/reviews/tel...u-buy-a-currys-or-argos-brand-tv-adSdf3i54xPd Back to the Kaboom I recall hearing one sat on a school stage providing background music for a school fete, and doing a good job at it.
Don't know but i doubt it, i mean does jvc even exist??? they are probably owned by someone else now lad
