After my first serious boombox (Sanyo M 9994LU) since..... ehhh.... 1983, I now got the second one. That's a very special one for me, as it was available at the same moment as I and my brother got our first boombox: a Philips D-8414. I was looking with big eyes at that big woofer in the middle....

OK, now back to reality and back to 2024: YES, I know there's a bad gear in it and I already bought a replacement. And YES, I know sound is not the greatest, you would definitely expect more bass than it actually produces and also, the maximum SPL is not that great. I know, I know, I know! Nevertheless... it is THAT special to me that I now bought a near mint one, only missing the antenna. But: I already HAVE a D-8444 which is in very bad condition, but the antenna is still in one piece [IMG]

Now let's keep fingers crossed it will not be damaged on its trip from Germany to the Netherlands...

Nice find, sometimes the Magnovox Version pops up over here, I'm not sure what the difference is but I bet ours doesn't have the cool multi-band tuning.
