I know that this is a cheap duel cassette deck that is generally looked down upon but it's what I have to work with. I bought it new and recently dug it out and got it going again. Most everything is working as it should but I need to replace the old dry belts and probably make some minor adjustments. I have been searching for a service manual online but have only found the owners manual. If anyone could provide a link for the service manual I would be forever in your debt.
    Thanks a lot!

I never could find it but I managed to change the belts this morning. It seems to be working just fine so I guess I really didn't need the manual. Thanks for trying!

Tape decks are always hit or miss, I can usually figure them out but some can take hours to get to the belts and rollers.

For anyone else looking to change the belts on this, there's a YouTube video showing how...

Thanks for the video Refurbatron. My player is different from the Pioneer player though. I thought it would be the same machine too. The numbers are the same but the Teac has the 2 decks beside one another. It only has 1 motor that runs both decks. It's pretty simple to change the belts on it. I did have to cut 2 wires that ran through the middle of one belt and solder them back after replacing the belt. I also mis-routed a belt and had to refer to the photos I took before I started. It would be really simple for someone that knows what they are doing.

My apologies. I was so focused on the model number that I didn't notice that it was a totally different brand! D'oh!

And yes, taking photos is always a good idea. As you say, not the best cassette deck in the world, but definitely well worth saving when you compare it to the dross that's on the market nowadays. Glad you got it sorted.
