Hello everyone! I've been a Sony fan from my teens and recently nostalgic about walkman (and also discmans)! It's also my hobby to fix things, from ipods, iphones, computers, receivers, etc. and more recently walkmans! My first walkman was a Crown (japanese) like this one on the photo below. I was only 10ys old and I loved it! https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/...5KgClCWYRb0WsU0SMyTx-fS62lyCcttomSYVRqA5tzXCv My 2nd, was a much better one, a Sony! WM-F2085! And I still have it to this date. Ribbon cable is no longer original, it got ripped during high school but I fixed and still works like a charm: some walkmans were really built to last! https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/sony/wm-f2085.shtml After that, I got 2 WM-FXs: FX403 and FX465 (new belt added recently). Over the last months, and thanks to the great content of this site, I recently bought some models I always wanted to have but back in the day couldn't afford. I recently bought a few that I hope to bring them back to life, a: - WM-701C - WM-F701C (my dream machine at the time) - it's not working but my goal is to resurrect it! - WM-F702 - WM-FX70 and WM-190 (according to what I learned here those are hard to fix: clutch/gear, motor and electrolytic capacitor leak issues) - WM-BF608 (in great cosmetic shape, but I wasn't even able to complete disassemble it). I have the service manual, but I couldn't remove the back circuit board to replace the belt. I will soon be posting photos of those beauties. Cheers, Ed.
