Wanted to be the first to do something on the new site! So here goes! For anyone who doesn't know me, my name is Simon, I'm 48 going on 14, and I live in the north of England. Been collecting for a number of years after I stumbled across the box I had as a teenager whilst browsing eBay. Up to about 60 boxes now including some really nice ones. Diversified recently into jukeboxes and one armed bandits but first love is still the boxes. Also on boomboxery under the same name. I hope this new site brings in some new blood and if it does WELCOME!
Nice post Si, first intro but you need no introduction ironically Well I'm T-ster, or T as most call me, nearly 40 and similar to you Si i'm mostly into boxes but i also love lots of retro tech. I have a few walkmans, minidisc players, radio's, boomboxes. I love 80's movie and tv shows and remembering better days. I haven't actually counted my boxes yet but similarly i have 51 here in the room with me, 6 in repair queue, one in the bedroom and probably 10 in the loft !!
Quite a nice nomadic migration we have going... I'll introduce myself as well. My avatar says Brutus442, but in reality I'm Geoff. My mother in law calls me something I can't post here so we'll leave it at that. I'm 47 and have been in love with these electronics gadgets since I was a teen. I only have 8 boxes and about the same number of walkmans which according to my wife is bordering on divorce territory. I enjoy long walks on the beach and relaxing in front of a fire. My measurements are....ooops wrong forum for that! I love Hockey (typical Canadian), Baseball, and all things related to aviation. I spend an equal amount of time avoiding my responsibilities by flying in Flight Simulator or playing sports. That's it!
Call me Ishmael... no, actually you may call me Sanyovar because of my favorite brand. Or Spamovar, whenever you think that my posts have reached a critical level of pointlessness. I love boomboxes, walkmans, vintage portable audio and non-portable hifi. I love many other things, of course; for the sake of conciseness, I'll stick to the topic of this forum. I do not have enough boxes in my collection but I'll catch up with my wish list one day. With a little help from the very good friends I've made on stereo2go in the last four years and a half (July 2012 - December 2016)
Greetings friends and strangers (remember, a stranger is just a friend you have not met yet). I am Nick, obviously, 47, and i joined S2Go in 2012 while looking for some help with an Aiwa personal cassette that had peed all over itself and found not only help with that but some seriously amazing people and collections of boomboxes. I succumbed to the bug and started buying everything i could get my hands on. Most were a disappointment but we can put that down to experience! The total is now about 270 boxes and (before you ask) they have spilled over from home to my workplace and other locations. So thanks to you bas#%&*s i can't freakin' move for the damned things but i would not want to be without them or the terrific people i have got to know here and in some cases; met in person. I do quite a bit of Cycling and when my knee get's better i will be playing Badminton again.
