I recently got 13 new cassettes there all chrome cassettes and before this I even used a type 1 cassette and did a whole recording sounded excellent but all of the new ones sound like this: https://soundcloud.com/halukaliev/used-raks-sd-x-60

(I had a brand new type 1 RAKS cassette as well tried that and sounded really good no issues at all but all of the other RAKS cassettes sound like this after the recording)

I think they were exposed to lots of humidity... tape itself has lost properties.
You can damage the head of your Recorder by using those like as they are...

Not sure what's the cause of that but it has lost some properties due to too much hot (left in the car under sunlight) or something like that...
Be careful to use them in your best deck, you never know if they can damage it...
