Its a basic two head deck and belt drive but its from the era when Technics produced some good decks so i think it will perform well if correctly serviced and with new belts etc.
And also I am trying to record a cassette with Dolby B and should I keep the music peek a little bit up to +1 or to the Dolby logo on the meter?
I found something very strange, so I wanted to make a new recording to a tape just to try the device. I recorded the side A then listened to the recording on my WM-EX674 and the right channel was louder then the left channel. Then I tried listening to the tape from the deck itself and it sounds fine and even on a WM-FX193 the recording sounded fine with no issues. Thought the problem was the WM-EX674 but an older recordings sounded perfect. I really don't know whats the problem that I am having, I cleaned the tape head with alcohol, I tried diffrent cables but nothing worked.
You might need to look inside and check if anything looks abnormal, i.e. bulging capacitors, burn marks, broken wires. If nothing you would be able to at least take pictures of the inside and post it here.
Here is the thing I made the same recording on my JVC TD-W205 and again the right channel louder on my WM-EX674 but then again on both of the decks and my other walkmans the recordings sounds fine. Here is the really wierd part my old recordings sounded ok on the WM-EX674 thats the thing that I can't figure out at all.
