Hi every1! I came across this site trying to find out some information concerning repairing vintage boomboxes. As a kid coming up in the 80s and the breakdancing era I fell in love with the giant boomboxes. I use to see the break dancers in the big cities on tv with them. Unfortunately in my little country town radio shack was our only option so i had to settle for a small double deck radio. As a kid we done a lot of traveling. My first heartbreaking experience as a child was centered around the boombox. On several different occasions I visited New York, California, New Orleans, and Mexico. Back then you could pass by certain stores and they had boomboxes everywhere! For the first time in my live I was able to see and touch one but my dad refused too buy me one! Every time he seen them he would make it his business to take me to look but he wouldn’t buy! So hear i am grown and in a place to buy my own! My 1st radio was a JVC M70 and my second radio was heaven sent!!! Yes God did it!!! A JVC M90 that I only paid $249 for!!!
Damn straight into boombox ownership with the king of them all, an M90! Welcome to the site, don't forget to share a pic!
Nice! M70 first then an M90?!...you can retire now lol Took me 6 years of collecting before I got my M90!
M70 tape deck is dragging and at times i have issues with one of the woofers cutting off. M90 has a dead tape deck.
Yeh need to change belts pretty much on any box. The M70 has issues with the sliders on top that can affect the channels. The M90 it could be belts or there are some resistors in there that can cause issues
