Hi, I found my old Walkman in the attic the other day and decided to try to make it work again. It's fun, brings me back to the eighties and is a welcome break from family life (three small kids). Hope I'm welcome here.
Welcome! Yes its so satisfying getting an old Walkman working again. I recently gave a restored one to a friend as a 50th birthday present, along with a mixtape. They loved it!
Mach you are in good company here, dont be shy then, tell us, what are you fixing? We may be able to help
Actually I have two projects. One is a Sony WM-190 (I'm already making progress there, thanks to the great help in this forum). The other is a Sony Discman D-150. This discman I got on my birthday just after it came out and it accompanied me to where I am today being a music journalist - I remember sitting in my room and staring at the numbers on the display while listening to a CD from my humble but beloved collection. This discman has a minor problem today (the laser doesn't move laterally). I hope one day I'll be able to fix it, today I don't dare yet. I'll get some practice fixing the WM-190 first.
