I was just looking around the bay while crunching paperwork and I really enjoy the "similar" line of items at the bottom of the listing. It usually has items similar to the one I'm looking at and the weird thing is if I search using a term to include these bottom listings, they never seem to come up on their own. I've bought quite a few items from these listings but this time I had a mini-score. I was looking for a Walkman and the listing in the bottom section had photo of a group of about eight personal cassette players and one looked kind of interesting. Looking at the listing closer, it turned out to be BPC, but next to it, kind of under the other BPC Walkmans was something I recognized as one of the most rare mini-boxes from the golden age. I think I've only seen it talked about once or twice on this site and I've posted my other red unit a few times, most recently in the "Beer and Boomboxes" Thread but besides a couple international sites it's a hidden gem. One of the cool things is that is came in several colors. We were lucky in the US to mostly get the black, gray or silver units and didn't see a ton of the bright colored boxes (yellow "SPORTS" was the exception). Here's my little new Pioneer SK-Q10 SV, about the size of two cassette tapes. This one is a beautiful white with chrome trim. These have a really poor screen-printing job on them that will wipe off if you clean it too much so I'm going to leave it as-is. The chrome trim has a mirror finish and will blind you if your out in the sun. While it looks a little beat up in the photo, that's just a trick of the lighting, from 5' away it looks almost mint except for a little dirt.
They are so frickin cute and rarely come up for sale over here, thanks for the photo Mystic Traveller. I've also found a blue, black and one that looks grey on the Japanese Websites with a ton of cool stuff on shizaudio.ru. I'm not a big fan of white but this is almost pearl white with the mirror finish and it looks like it's solid metal even though it's extremely nice chromed plastic. Check out this SK-Q10, just beautiful still in the box.
