I've been wanting to put some light behind the cassette tapes when playing my boxes and the old stickers are totally useless. I've searched the net for a while now, and maybe I haven't found technology that may already exist that'll do the trick without having to modify the boxes to install a true light, or adding any wiring to accomplish this.

So, I found photoluminescent glow tape. I found some at Hoop Tape Canada, in British Columbia, and I ordered some. It works, but it's not the ultimate thing. I will continue to look for other solutions, and I will gladly take anyone else's suggestions.

This glowing tape works as specified after light has been shining into the deck for a short period of time (2-3 minutes). The glow will gradually wear off. What I like the most about is that there is an unmistakable enhanced lit background behind the tape even when you are just using your boxes as you normally would. You can definitely see behind the tape a lot better than if were not using this glowing tape when the rooms is lit up and the sticker isn't glowing.
I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. Cheers!

Oh! I got 25 feet of it, and one foot was enough. If you want try it, please let me know. My cost on it was $44.60 CAD with the shipping and HST. I will ask you for $3CAD for each 30cm length (2 x 15cm pieces) plus the cost for the stamp, to reach you wherever you are! That should easily cover for the envelope and PayPal fees. Once it's gone, I'm not getting any more. This is not for me to turn into a business!

No, not really. The tape is fairly easy to cut, peels off nicely and it does not seem to be the type that would leave residue. Sticks very well, and it does certainly fell like an excellent quality product. So far so good!

Did you just put a square where the panel behind the tape would normally be?

Yes. It was that simple. Measure it out with another piece of regular white paper as best as you can and then transfer those measurements to the tape that you will be cutting. Go large at first and trim as necessary. The tape will allow you to trim easily as small as about 1/3 of a mm., but you should use one good and clean scissors.
