hello there. I bought a Panasonic Rx-1950 and even after cleaning all the pots and re soldering them and the headphone jack It still only plays in the left channel only on tape and radio. I did a test recording and it records to both channels. Any advice? Thanks.
It could be a lot of things but I'd also check the speaker and see if it's getting a signal or if it's toast. Usually the speakers last forever unless the mice get to them. I always put them at full volume and hit all of the switches several times to see if I'm getting a hint of static out of the bad speaker, even a few pats on the box itself. 90% of the time it's corrosion in the switches and it needs DeOxit or a wire has come lose and it needs resoldering. After that it could be a common problem with the box and lastly some part might have fried and that's the hardest to find.
