Hi, my Sharp GF555 is not very well.
I am looking for someone to repair it if at all possible?
    The radio works ok.
The tape decks now do not work, they spool the tape inside the cassette, I saw a guy on youtube fix this, via installing a new small rubber tube onto the spindle, but looks a bit complicated for me!
Volume is ok, but seems quieter on one channel, like maybe only one speaker works properly, the other side works but sounds muffled?
Can anyone recommend a good repairer?
I'm happy to pay a reasonable cost to anyone who can work their magic and get my old girl fettled and working again..... because she's worth it....
I can travel a bit if necessary, I live in Bromley and Work in Croydon, but I can travel (have car)
    Thanx

These aren’t too hard to work on to be honest. Sharps are my favourite to repair as they’re logically and clearly put together. Find the manual to help you take it apart and give it a go

The service manual is on Elektrotanya

    https://elektrotanya.com/sharp_gf-555h_e.pdf/download.html

(click the Recaptcha box then wait about a minute for the download to appear in the same place. Ignore the click through advertising elsewhere on the page)

or here (can't see a full download link)

    https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1006245/Sharp-Gf-555h.html

Thinking of the sensible warning on the Elektrotanya site, if you don't know what you are doing, do any testing with the covers off using batteries.

The GF555 seems to be quite common in the UK so doesn't go for big money.
I fully understand why you would want to get yours repaired, if you have had it a long time though.

I've already had the back off, and watched the guy on you tube replace the rubber tube roller thingies, which made the tapes work properly, but was a bit daunted by it to be honest, might give it a go one day, but was hoping to find someone who could fix it for me, happy to pay someone...
