Hi. My name is Andrei. I am from Kiev, Ukraine

I with my friends collect cassette tapes, repair cassette players.

    We love old music.

How do you think is it possible to find Japanese manufacturer of drive belts?

    Have a nice day!

Hello Andrei and welcome to S2G
I don't think Japanese companies still making drive belts. These belts are mainly made in other countries, mostly China.

Andrei, Welcome! Now there are two of us from Kiev here :)

According to the folks at tapeheads.net forum, the only place to get belts made in Japan according to the standards of the olden days is Marrs Communications
A bit more expensive than my favorite places Turntable Needles and Consolidated Electronics but when restoring hi-end cassette deck it makes sense to get the best parts. For my Nak LX-3, I bought a kit from Germany and everything seemed up to the specs ( bought from eBay member revox-de ).

For Walkmans everyone at S2G buying belts from your neighbor @mihokm ( mihokm on eBay)

Belt kits? I do not even bother any more, even when used for CD drawers they crack and crumble in about a year!

Hi Jorge!!! Great to meet you! Have you visited Kiev after moving to US?

Many thanks for your reply. Yeah I know some of these sites. Thank you once more.

I do not know why but I am still thinking that only Japan can do the best belts and almost a year I am trying to find the guys from Japan who can do it :)
It is interesting to test their belts, may be they will function several years.

Yes, once every few years we visit my mother-in-law. It was sad to see how things were sliding from bad to worse there
Maybe you are right: Marrs Communications make a point about their belts being Made in Japan. Have to get me some nice Nak deck, then I will start worrying about such things ;)
