    Johan, being a new member with zero history most people will feel nervous about buying from you.

    Put your walkman on Ebay with a starting price of 99p and watch the bids flood in. What it finishes on is what it is worth.

    Your buyer then has protection.

    @T-ster

    Thanks for the info. I admit that that also occurred my mind but it is worth a try.
    Anywhere I would announce my Walkman I would be a newbie ...there are still honest people out here

    Johan, welcome to Stereo2go
    Your walkman is a highly collectible walkman. I have 3 of them myself. This walkman comes with 2 versions one with gold ribbon and one with silver ribbon. apart from the ribbon everything else looks same.

    The ribbon that goes on top of the box or inside the box is missing in your pictures, Do you have that?

    This is my opinion about this model (NOT your walkman)

    Brand new, never been touched with all accessories $1450-1650

    The walkman itself in flawless cosmetic/working condition $800-900
    original box with with all accessories except headphone in mint condition $300-350
    Original headphone with original foams in mint condition $180-220

    somebody in California placed the box on ebay for 200 USD and sold it right away: (The box had some minor cosmetic issues).

    the last unit on ebay in 2017 sold to 1170.00 USD but it was used and came without a headphone . I won the auction:

    Unfortunately I cannot see my Ebay history before 2017 to show you the value of other units I bought. I paid about 1500 USD in 2016 for a brand new one on ebay (auction).

    Now lets talk about your walkman:
    The ribbon goes on the box (or inside the box: depends on the color of ribbon) is missing
    Your box has significant cosmetic flaws which lowers the price significantly.
    Your walkman shows significant scratches/dents/ discoloration.
    The foam on your headphones somehow doesn't look original. maybe I am wrong.

    As @T-ster mentioned your best chance is to place it on Ebay and let the market finds its value, and if you are interested I can tell you the value of your walkman

    @Boodokhan

    Thanks for all that info.

    My walkman has been and is still used since 1981 (i think) so yes it has some traces. But overall for that age and use it is a fairly good condition.
    The foam from the headphones did not survived that long period but yes they are original.
    The ribbon on the box I do not have anymore, therefore I have the original manual, warranty card in the original plastic bag, the paper of the original manual, warranty card is not white anymore which is quite normal after almost
    40 years. The original synthetic dust cover in the box is also still there but it has some knicks. The carton cover inside the box is also still there. The big battery
    box has never been used and comes in its original packing. The foam from the red box is also suffering from its age but still quite ok. The carrying case
    is also in a good, fair condition.

    Last but not least, my walkman has been serviced recently and was cleaned on the inside and also received new belts
    Everything works like the first day, it plays, rewind, forward, red light works, microphone works, volume left and right works, both cinch for headphones
    work also.

    I guess that it is a balance what is important or not to you, or to me or any other person who buy things like that.
    It would not be the first time that an un-opened original packed item which is opened after 20, 30, 40 years appears not to work.
    Even things that are not used, un-opened suffer.

    Anyway thanks for the infos
    Cheers
