I have 3 boomboxs, 2 walkmans, 1 microtape recorder, plus a huge collection of cassette tapes - that I have recorded onto. Yesterday's haul attached - 48 blank C90 cassetts.
I also have a TEAC A-103 tape deck. I worked in the factory that assembled them 30-yrs-ago. Bought the deck for $NZ12 a few years back.
That's funny, I was just out in the shop looking at my Teac A-103, I got it last year but I think it needs a belt. I'd love to rotate it in and try it out since I don't have experience with the cassette decks. I'd love to hear about the factory, I didn't know they manufactured so far outside of Japan and the usual other places.
The dealership was/is Direct Imports (https://directimports.co.nz/) - they assembled the tapedecks - I was a technician, so tested the decks. I actually picked up 3 brand new/unused tests tapes a year ago: KONIG Frequency Response Tape, KONIG Torque Meter tape, & an audio cassette demagnitizer tape (all for a $1). I also had to replace the drive belts in my A-103 - got the last set from Direct Imports - for $0. Goes perfectly. You can download the workshop manual as a PDF.
