I can categorize myself as a Sony Cassette Walkman collector .... a serious one. I wish I can make some friends here with the same interest in those Sony goodies in order to revitalize the memories of our youth time and prepare a real interest for our retirement. Here is some boxes of my collection
Welcome to the forum, From&for HongKong! (is there any shorter way to call you?) I see you are a SONY lover and like metallic, thin models. You have good taste.
Now that is a collection, From&for HongKong thanks for sharing! I'm on the other end of the spectrum, mine are usually long forgotten units found for dirt cheap at the local flea markets and thrift stores. The only boxed units I see are NOS of crappy players you'd have to give away. I'd love to hear the story of how you aquired it, I just had commented in another thread about thinking there was a bunch of people with stacks of units we never hear from.
welcome aboard As far as I see you got some of my favorite walkman models. I see 2 Excellent walkmans 4 Boodokhan walkmans and a DC2 I have been to your country few times. There is a nice gentleman with a tiny shop at Apliu Street Flea market (all the way to the end of market. Every time I go to HK I visit his store. One of the best stores for small vintage electronics like walkmans and Minidiscs. At least 40 units of my collection comes from his small store. Nowadays is hard to find a place to buy good quality cassette players.
I also have 3 701S, 1 701T, 2 more DC2, 4 dd9, a few TPS-L2 , 3 NIB WM3 ... etc, all boxed but the journey will never ends That small shop don't have boxed machine but it's still a very good place to visit
your collection is amazing . I saw your TPS-L2 , and 701s which are collectible. I have several of them myself and to me these are regular walkmans (even DD9 ) BUT DD100 and 3EX models are exceptional and extremely collectible ( my personal opinion). He has a tiny safe. He keeps the valuable items in the safe, ask him to open the safe and show you the models inside the safe.
