    Hi
I bought a sanyo mg41 on ebay a few weeks ago. The cassette mechanism worked fine when I got it, but the radio only let out audio to the left ear. Now the cassette mechanism doesnt work at all. The stop button got stuck too. I do not have the expertise to fix this. Can anyone recommend resources, people that can refurbish this walkman?
    Thanks a bunch

At minimum, you need new belt from @mihokm which sets you back as much as the Walkman itself... Then shipping two-ways to me yet another $20, why bother?

New users of this old equipment are finding out that these units can be very complicated. In almost every case a belt needs to be changed and some lubricant on the delicate moving metal parts might help. These were very high-tech when they came out with really small moving parts. There are people that will work on them but the cost is usually pretty high for what the unit is worth. If you have any interest in opening it up and trying it yourself, that's the best option. A small philips screwdriver can work wonders and it might be an easy repair. You should have at minimum a bottle of isopropyl alcohol and q-tips for cleaning dirt and old belt goo, a very small philips screwdriver, a can of DeOxit, and a supplier for a new belt (ebay, or fix your audio on the front page). It may be an easy fix or it might take a little work, at this point you have nothing to lose. The radio in one ear is usually the tape/radio switch, try working it back and forth and see if you hear anything in the headphones. The headphones themselves might be bad but I'm assuming you heard stereo with the tape playing.

@Mister X finished my sentence, I got distracted by my Boss yesterday, Sorry!! With a $10 unit you have nothing to lose: open her up and we shall walk you through the fun part of this hobby :)

I will try doing that once I have the time. Thank you so much for the advice. Where should I get belts for sanyo? I have also recently acquired a sony wm-ex102, but it plays slow. Looks like im going to open up two walkmans

Start with the Sanyo, I haven't opened one up in years but they're fairly large and should be somewhat easy to fix. I've got a handful of the Sportster Models, these were better than entry level and you didn't have to worry about it breaking when you fell off your skateboard and it went flying. I used to find them all of the time at the thrifts, a nice robust unit with radio that was very popular.

Russell Industries Catalog lists it as SCY 6.0, but its has it listed as "M-Q41" Maybe a typo? Try to cross-check with other internet sellers.

I've never used these guys, there's several others on the internet and ebay. In most cases you can get away with a generic belt but for the "high end" players I'd go to the guys on the front page..
