If you have had it from new (or nearly new) I would keep it like that for the memories. It took me about three years to find a replacement for the cassette recorder I had in the 1970s. More recently I bought the same model of camera I had back then despite it taking unobtainable 126 film and taking rubbish pictures. Old age makes gives you a desire to re-live your childhood.
