    Hi there,

this is Anthony coming from China and currently living in Germany. Just jumped in the Walkman world several days ago. Nice to meet you guys!

And, a newcomer always comes with questions. I recently bought a Sony WM-D6, which is in good shape and works properly most of the time. But it makes a loud and constant crack noise while playing back. I think it is some gear inside not doing its job well. Also the playback speed isn't constant, and the REC Level Knob just comes off if pulled with little strength. So, I think I need to send it out for a service. Do you guys have any recommendations?

    Greetings from Germany
    Anthony

    Welcome to Stereo2go Anthony X

There are members on here that can service your unit for you, if you don't mind sending it away.

Welcome! There's a thread somewhere on here with repair services, I'd also look up "Sony WM-D6, site:stereo2go.com" in google and you should find a ton of threads, there will be a few with service shops listed. It's considered one of the nicer Walkmans but some have had abuse over the years since they were made for real work.

Thanks Mr. X! I’ll try that out. I do hope my D6 wasn’t pushed that hard when it was still on the field. But just can’t make it out because the seller got it from heritage.

Try sending PM to Deb64 or MagneticBlood, they are both very good at servicing these units.
