Hi I opened the front part but this whole mechanism is holded by something I cannot find. Its doesnt have and screws I cannot understand what is holding it. I just want to change the beld. Does anyone know hot to do it.
I saw that screw and removed it. But all of the wires are soldered and I have to disolder them for reaching the beld thats kinda annoying.
I opened it eventually but even after changing the belt the walkman continued chew tapes so I just gave up.
Clean the pinch roller. Most of the time just by cleaning the pinch roller this issue will go away. Sometimes you need to replace the pinch roller if its damaged.
I just chekced them they are super clean. Probably the first thing I did was the cleaning. There is no visible damage inside. Maybe the new belt is too thick or something.
A bad or wrong belt should not cause bad tape spooling, it's usually something around the heads or pinch roller like Boodokhan said. I've posted some great articles in the boombox tech section that can help you troubleshoot the issue. If a pinch roller is too hard it can cause issues, even if it looks brand new it will not grip the tape for consistent speed.
