all recordings of our music jam-sessions we do make with a tcd-m5 onto cassette, later we digitalize it onto computer in wav- format. i used to make this through the audio- input of an old windows- laptop but was never happy with it. who is using a seperate device for recording from analog stereo to wave-format and can recommend it ?

You can find 2nd hand ones for low prices. It can record in WAV or MP3 directly and it has VU meters, record level...
well, i didn't want to have another blooming desktop around, wanted to use a laptop and you can't get any with line-in anymore. i might buy another 2006-2008 macbook, that might do...
If your laptop doesn't have any input you have two choices: buy a separate device (the one I suggested is smaller than a walkman) or another laptop with line IN. It's up to you...
