A giant Sanyo M-1700F mini boombox was part of a series of Art Installations at Bus Shelters in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in December 2020, called Jumeirah Project.

It should come with a giant BIC pen to wind the tape back into the cassette :reelspin::ok:reelspin:

When visiting my birthplace (Motherland?!?) in Alma-Ata (capital of Kazakhstan, then renamed as Almaty, then Astana, now Nur-Sultan) I spent a few hours at a bus stop there in 1983... the only similarity was one section of The Wall as here but with a sign “restroom”. I asked my fellow traveler about the meaning and got a stare as if I am stupid: “you go behind the wall to do your thing!”
This bus stop is from ‘1001 Nights’ fairy tales :)
And no graffiti over Art Installation??? Even here&now in Malibu it is a Must!!!

sorry about misplaced response: at my fav chatroom of Naim Audio crowd there is a "padded cell" section to where it seems I am going... :)

That is really neat, I can't believe in this day and age something like that shows up and they copied a highly regarded but kind of rare model. If you have close up photos, I'd love to see how they put it together.

I could not find many photos of this artwork so far.

If not for the COVID-19 restrictions, I would have gone to this place and taken photos myself. It is 120km away from the place where I live, and there are restrictions for movement to go there now.

Well, if they have nothing else to display... Cannot have statues or portraits in Muslim countries. Does the radio work? The cassette, obviously, does not.
