Hey all, I found this forum after getting back into tapes. Massive music lover who goes to stupid lengths to experience the medium in as many ways as possible. History or walkmans (mainly Aiwa when I was younger because they were cheaper than Sony), MiniDisc, creating 5.1 DTS audio CDs to play on a PS2 via Optical. Dipped my toes into vinyl for a while but they didn’t hold as much feeling to me as the trusty cassette. Plus they take up way too much room! Anyway, I’ve got a DC2 on the way from eBay that needs a new gear fix so I’m going to give it a full refurb, and maybe even install a new set of capacitors too if I’m feeling adventurous. Cheers!
which part of wales are you from....im here too and hate it lol to many dishonest people where i am, anyway welcome aboard RR

Welcome automatom, you've probably seen The Lion's AIWA Website https://personalhifiblog.blogspot.com/p/aiwa.html There's some more in the "Another Japanese Website" Thread. I always loved AIWA because my older next door neighbor, an electronics genius, told me when I was a kid that AIWAs were the best portables made. This was a guy that got 100% on every test in high school, so for years I looked for them but they were hard to find. After 20 years of looking I finally have a decent collection but very few were found locally. Radio, if I lived a little closer or if flights were going on now, I'd stop by and have some beers with you, we could crank some loud music!
My in-laws live in Pembroke Dock & have a static caravan quiteclose to the south-east end of Ceredigion. I know Cardigan quite well...
