Oh my, that is a collection to end all collections. I wonder are they all working? Never seen so many DDs in one collection... amazing
E X C E L L E N T Your collection is amazing. good to see you back Kent. I was expecting you to comeback and renew your blank cassette topic in the new forum & am surprised to see your comprehensive collection of boxed walkman units.
Unreal, not just the quantity but the fact that it would take a ton of hours to find all of those. Thanks for the posts!
Fantastic collection and includes 7 DD9 and 2 DD100 boxed with headphones and 8 or more Sony TPS-L2. I just love the boxes as it gives the units a special historic /time value as well when times were more fun possibly.
I have just noticed that some boxes are bigger or different in style for the same unit which may be down to country of origin or sale but I note that two of the boxes for the DD9 seem bigger than the third box on the right in the picture and the red professional box for Sony WM-DC2 the one the left is much bigger as is the polystyrene foam pack in the next picture . Can you explain the difference ? Did the smaller pack not include headphones ?
There are 3 version of DD9:Euro DBB/Euro MB/Japan DBB.The Euro version of the packaging is different from the Japanese version because of the different internal accessories. WM-DC2 also has 2 version:Euro version and Japan version, the left one is Euro version which has MDR-51 headphones inside. The right one is Japan version which only has a sling inside, there's no headphones in the package.
Kent Thanks for explaining the differences which is sort of what I expected .Where did you find them especially so many in their boxes?I have a large collection but not so many are boxed but I do have a few. I must try and sort them out and photo them someday but they are all over the house in cupboards much to my wife's displeasure . The Aiwa collection is fantastic too but I still prefer the Sony range on the whole
Wow, such an amount of top-class walkmans in boxed condition is unbelievable. Truly impressive. And, man, you may have a lot of space at home for all those boxes...
If you run out of storage space then you can send some of the Walkmans to me for storage. Free of charge!!
