I've only seen the little AKAI's over here with the tilting speakers, the big ones never show up for sale.

My first and most favourite - AKAI.
My very first sound making machine was an AJ-350 mono.
    Now I have an AJ-505, AJ-490 and two AJ-370s.

I have an AJ-490 or a very similar box in storage. It is an unusual design with all the controls below the deck and speakers.

Those mono boxes are pretty cool looking, the one labeled AJ-370 looks like it has the tuning knob where the other's have a tweeter?

    What a beast!

I do like my old 490 though, but I gave it away to a family member 20 years ago and since then they threw it in the rubbish as the cassette wouldn’t play anymore :emoji_cry:

I have a PJ-33 and even with blown out passive radiators, it sounds pretty bassy!

I'd love to find one of the older pre-PJ Models but I don't know if they sold them here? I might have to go on vacation over to Greece to find one.
