    Hi I`m from Hannover/Germany.
In 1986 I had a my first Aiwa Stereo Cassette Player.
Can`t remember which Model but it was smaller and cheaper
    than the Sony Walkman.

Not long ago i bought a refurbished Sony DDI from Ebay (130 Euro)
and a broken Aiwa HS-P09 from a thrift store (40Euro).

Welcome, your off to a great start, I didn't realize the AIWA was that much smaller. There's an old thread on the forum reader about the smallest portable.

    Thank you.
The DD1 ist is a little bit bigger than the other Sony DD`s.
Nice metal case with a lot of plastic inside.

The Aiwa HS-P 09 could be one of the smallest player with auto reverse at the time of production.
How can I find this old thread?

    Welcome to Stereo2go Kabuff

That Aiwa HS-P09 is one I have always wanted to try, but have not found a working one at a reasonable price.

    Here's one of them

There's a 2nd page, hit the "2" at the top of the thread.

The forum has gone through a handful of hosting companies over the last 20 years, one group of baddies wouldn't release the data to upgrade to this host. One of the members was able to convert the data to a searchable database labeled "Old_forum" at the top of the page. There's a ton of info in there, some of the photos have disappeared over time unfortunately. Look up old member "John Edwards" (RIP) Threads, he had a ton of cool units.

    Very interesting.
The Sony WM 40 could be his counterpart at the time.
