Hi New member from the Uk I’ve got about 15 working Walkman and a similar number of projects. Mainly using (most enjoyable to listen to) WM-2 (couple of these) DD-33 WM-60 (two of these) WM-BF65 (a few) WM-EX505 WM-FX503 next projects WM-F63/73 (as seen in pretty woman and Amazon prime series/comic books paper girls) three of these but either have capacitor issues - all SMD despite being 1985 sport models or servo loop issue with noise WM-R2 WM-B603 (Dolby C model from 89) already changed clutch but seems to have another gear and possibly intermittent motor/drive issue (have EX49,EX50 and 2x B602 that might give up parts for it) A few EX500s with either gear issue or no power (500,506,521,527,512,550) also got (not such a great listen) but nice to have WM-36 WM-24 (needed new servo controller and bypass printed resistor to remove noise and be able to control speed in correct range) And a bunch I’ll probably sell
And if I had to keep one, I’d probably keep one of the WM-60s. I get a real kick out of walking round with the WM-2s though. DD33 is a bit of a in the house only as it’s a big heavy. actually I forget that I’ve got a WM-EX508 but has a bit of a buzz on it. That’s a really good looker and has the convertible battery compartment to take a gum stick or AA. I like the ones with a bit more grunt as they’re more flexible to use with Hi-Fi headphones.
