My Sony CFS-9000 plays tapes great but when recording from radio or Aux the right channel is very low and only just hear it with volume up high when playing back.

Playback is working fine with other tapes with music.

I have tried other blank tapes too

Any suggestions would be great thanks

Checked the Audio board and in particular the inductors for record level and bias level.

Found L202 (Right channel bias was open circuit)

    Replaced it and ...

    Fixed :)

Correct the L202 was open circuit

I also had the exact same issue with my Sony FH-110W cassette mech too
