hello i have cleaned the old boombox my parents had offered me when i was 12 (1986), i believe it was a decent machine when new (for a portable player) it still works very nicely but i could not find any information on the internet. Not even a single picture of an other one. i suppose this was made by some japanese manufacturer under Dual specification (that is written on the back) does any of you have information or knowledge of it? here are some pictures in case the layout is identical of an other model.
seems like it is a unique machine then? in case some are interested here are the specs - FM AM radio - 1 motor cassette transport (large metal flywheel + soft controls) - normal / metal eq switch - dolby B record & play - 5 band equalizer - mono / stereo switch - aux / phono input (switch on the back to activate the riaa preamp) - mic input (2 mono mini jacks) - line out - no clue about rms power but probably somewhere around 5 w antoine
Someone else might know of an AKA (also known as). However there were/are some Japanese manufacturers like Towada audio who only ever made products for other manufacturers. Then you get major manufacturers sharing designs, especially the internal ones. More recently, for some reason only known to them, Sony DVD recorders were made by Pioneer, despite Sony having a much larger market share (judging from ebay I would guess that in the UK they sold ten Sonys for every Pioneer). In the servive menu there is even an S/P setting to change the "manufacturer".
For those interested I have found this is a clone of the Nordmende 4583, there is also a model from Fairmate that seems similar
