Hey everyone, thought I'd say hello. I used to be a member of s2g wayyy back in 2003 or so when I was in high school. I was digging through my modest little Walkman collection last night and happened upon an old Guys and Dolls TPS-L2 that needed some love. It inspired me to join back up here, possibly to look for some parts and assistance. Hope to reconnect with some old friends! I'm in Pittsburgh PA and I work in transferring legacy audio media. I have a small fleet of AMC cars and LawnBoy mowers. I'm heavily into older home stereo, Betamax VCRs and a bit into CED VideoDisc and have been into those since my high school years as well. I also like fixing old Zenith Chromacolor TVs. I'm pretty handy at repairing this old stuff, as one has to be to survive these days - Matt
Welcome back! I'm just seeing this tonight, I think some of these don't post right away? Sounds like your an old man now but the audio still runs deep! Please post your stuff, even AMC Cars. I think I have at least one example of old video tech but nothing CED, I still run across it but I went all in with the Pioneer Laser Disc System, sometimes you can find cool old concerts that were only released on that format. I'm also a sucker for old TVs but it's more of the micro TVs, I have some that I need to post, one is an old, old Crown that is a killer design from the 60's, it makes me smile when I look at it. It has that cool sci-fi high-tech look from back then. How did you get into Zenith? They were the fashizzle in the 70's but got crushed by Japanese Imports in the 80's.
I’m an old 34 now haha.. my grandparents had quite a few Zenith items. Aside from that I always wanted a Zenith Avanti 25” console TV. Now I have two restored and in regular daily use. I’m no 50 year seasoned technician but I get by. My one AMC was used in a video a while back: Above is a photo of our main Zenith Avanti TV over the holidays playing the Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour. We get YouTube and HBO Max and all on it.
