It went up to normal levels after you posted it. You can't go wrong with most Pioneer Equipment, built to last and serviceable.
these in good condition can sell for over 2 grand lad which is madness but i will always keep mine.....still better priced than some of the boomboxes walkmans i see lol
I just bought a big Pioneer Boombox, don't rain on my parade! I've also got some Pioneer non-boombox stuff around, a CT-F750 in my office, more out in the shop. Nothing too special but most will fire up with no problem. The SA-9800 is much more special, I've never seen one up close, I'd probably go for Spec first but still kicking myself for not getting a Spec Stack during the big C for $1000 USD. The only thing was it was five hours away in North Dakota. I miss those old stories from ARKAY, he was finding the good stuff all the time in Hong Kong.
on the face of it the 9800 is just a normal amp lad but it's the build quality that sets her apart and the 100 p/c spec......all the lower end ones in the blueline have less power still say if it wasn't for the blue florescent display these would sell for way less like my technics su v8 also dual mono 100w p/c but struggle to sell for 300 on a good day hey i also just bought a boombox a couple of days ago another jvc pc55....don't know where i am gunna put her though as i'm out of room.....i think by now lad you must have a way bigger collection of boxes than i ever had
She grows a few every few weeks, I tried cutting down this summer but with the collapsing world economy, there seems to be a bunch of bargains. My office has the small stuff on display, maybe fifty mini boomboxes and sixty or so Walkmans, throw in twenty big ones. Your collection was always the big guns and multiples of them, I have an easier time buying a $15 rare mini then an expensive grail. My PMS-6000 was my big purchase, and it was local. I've only seen maybe six for sale over the last 20 years. I did pick up a PC-55JW last year and everything works, that's rare now.
