    Hi,
I’m after the spindle assembly parts from this Walkman, specifically the black plastic parts in the picture (made up of two parts, the barrel shap that fits a cassette, and the tiny black cap on the top that secured the assembly onto the steel spindle. The cap on mine is split and keeps coming off.
    Thanks
    David (UK)

This part is common in several Toshiba walkman. All of them are prone to a crack on hexagon tiny plastic cap. The barrel spindle is easy to find. But the cap is usually cracked or will crack in time. If you have AutoCAD experience try to 3D print it. This is going to be my future project. For now I am working on acrylic parts and leather case and once I finish with current project will ask somebody to design this part that way I can print it.

So has your 3D print project on this been implemented? I have the same model with the same problem. Well, actually, the black caps on mine are completely missing, they're gone like years and decades. Another question. Mine is working just fine, both radio and audio cassette (I assume it does because the spindle reel turns when the PLAY button is pressed. The head is also clean.) but you have to press the unit slightly hard so that the power feeds. Depending on the positions, I guess it gets "loose" on power connection and it goes on and off. Again, when it's pressed, it works. Will this be an easy fix or something that I shouldn't bother fixing as it's kinda complicated and pointless? Sorry for the long writing, I don't know how to describe it more efficiently. Looking forward to your reply. Cheers.

    hello @Portebonheur and welcome aboard
Unfortunately I haven't started this project. COVID pandemic affected almost all of my projects.
I do not have professional 3D design experience to design it. I have to look for people who can do it.
Once you print this part it will be easy fix.

Thanks for the reply, Boodokhan. Yeah, the damned pandemic... There's no sign of light at the end of tunnel. :-(
Hopefully you get it done some day in the near future, and when you do, let me know too. I'd like to buy a bundle of them.
Well, 'til then, be safe and well, Boodokhan. Cheers.

Unfortunately I didn't work on this part. All my Toshiba units are packed in a box.

Do you still have a plan of doing it in the foreseeable future? Sorry to bug you but I'm this desperate to get them and revive my walkman... :'-(
