Hello Everyone! I would like to introduce myself: Timmo Meyer, a longtime cassette user. Ever since I got my first cassette back in 1997, life would never be the same! I suddenly could record my favorite songs, and I could play them over & over again... right up to this day, in 2024, I'm using cassettes on a (nearly) daily basis. The first way to record on cassettes in stereo arrived in 1983 for me, in form of a Philips D-8414 ghettoblaster. I was FULLY happy with it... until the day that I wanted to record two programmes on one day, same time. One cassette in the Philips, one in the Kenwood KX-70 cassette deck my father owned... and guess which recording sounded better... I had to buy my own Kenwood! That eventually led to buying a KX-9010, the top of the line deck of that year. The Philips had worn heads by that time, so that was the end of my only boombox... but a Sony WM-22 Walkman took over. This was a game changer for me. I took it everywhere, until class mates showed up with the WM-F28. Bulky, for sure, but MAN, that sound quality! Finally, with Dolby... I bought one too, of course. I now own multiple TOTL cassette decks, including a Nak CR-7E, Tandberg 3014A and a Revox B710, and all those years... something lacked... indeed... a good quality ghettoblaster! I started searching around, on this site and another, and found out, people were always positive about a Sanyo M9994. So, in the end, I bought one. VERY happy with it. Now, I may want to add another one of that quality, so I start asking here, which one to take...
Welcome to the forum, there's something magical about cassettes and the equipment used to play them. Feel free to post any equipment, we love it all.
I also have a LOT of quite high-end cassette decks... at least close to 10. All nice 3-head decks, among these a Nakamichi, a Revox and... the magnificent Tandberg 3014A is on it's way!
