I found this at the bay - and i was amazed about the tape sort button - it has 6 different positions. Closer informations told me, that the positions are assigned to special terminated cassette brand types, to seen in the manual : Was it now a good idea, or not, when you only can choose these cassettes without any other kind of possibility to handle calibration ? I , for myself, would be a little be overwhelmed, if i got one without a manual in times of missing web . Every deviant tape would be similar to a scientific experiment...
One of us always had a big brother that would kind of explain what it all meant. At least Dual gives you a few brands, most decks seemed to name just one recommended tape back then. I could only afford/find Memorex or Maxell, Memorex sound like crap so it was Maxell for 95% of my taping. Nice looking deck, we didn't get many over here, I wonder how they would have sold against Japanese Brands if they had more distribution.
