Sadly I have none of these but I do have some of the Pioneer SK's which are all based on the same chassis so they are mostly similar.

Keep reading about some of the cool early high-end tapes.

    I have both SK-95 & GF-305SB.
305SB has a unique feature of having a tape speed adjust slider control, that you see below the cassette door.

These decks are sweet! Pioneer is a classic, and so is Sharp.

From the subcompact models, I have always liked these Sony CFS-10 - all-metal bodies, and they even managed to squeeze in the LED level meter. These along with the CFC-F series stand apart from most Showa subcompacts (always occasional rivals from Sharp, Panasonic, or Aiwa)

CF-1980 MKII was one of the top 5 boomboxes? That's interesting and not too unexpected for me because I knew it was a wildly popular Mono-box with no less than five iterations / versions.

I like the look of the MK-II better than the "first edition" which is known as the CF-485 outside Japan. There was only a broken beat up one on e-bay missing a toggle switch and the microphone grille. That is why I chose instead the near mint original 1976 version CF-480.

    It must be.
A mono with separate Bass/ Treble controls and Loudness control plus Woofer + Tweeter is not very common!
And has Normal/CrO2 Tape selector, and it seems even Manual Recording level control.
