Hello everyone, My name is Luc, I am 43 years old and I come from France. It has been a few years now that I have been tempted to buy Walkmans and I took the plunge 1 month ago. I have just bought some cassettes of my favorite artists as well as two Walkmans: a WM-D6C and a WM-EX651. I am here to exchange with you, enrich myself with your knowledge and simply have a good time. I am very happy to join this forum.
I'm James and I'll be at 65 later this month and from where I'm lying I can see most of my walkmans I think I failed to mention I also sleep with boomboxes LOL
Since about the year 2005 when I went to the store to buy a cassette tape and they told me I had to buy them online because they no longer sold them in the store. So then I went online and I discovered all the radios that had passed me by in life when I was poor. So I started buying cassette player portables and then I tried to understand which ones would be the best sounding portables on batteries. Because what's the point of getting a portable to plug it into the wall? Since then, my two favorite portables are the Victor rc-550 and the JVC RV nb1 those are my two favorites. I do not consider myself a collector as I consider myself a experiencer meaning that I have to buy all these different things to understand how they work and sound. So I've done that and now I have one hell of a lot of radios I'm trying to repair to sell. I have made videos across five YouTube accounts that I have. However, recently I've lost access to two of my accounts, so I have fallen back to updating my first YouTube account since 2007 and one other account and a third account that I have but that's another story.
C2G is a madman with a killer collection! These early members were finding all kinds of cool stuff in the early days (2002+) and I had only been exposed to mid-level black plastic basic stuff. It's a great hobby, I just bought some new stuff today along with the Fixx's Red Skies at Night Colored (red) album single.
