I have a WM-FX241 that a bought new however long ago it was that they were making them. This morning, I replaced the belt as the original belt had turned into goo. It took me a couple tries to get it put back together with everything working. I also cleaned and demagnitized the head. It seems to be working like new other than it's just a little fast when playing. Is there a way to adjust the motor speed?
    Thanks a lot!

I found the service manual online this morning. You have to pry off the front display/control panel. The speed adjustment control is under the panel. I don't have any kind of calibration tape with a test tone so I adjusted it by ear with music that I am familiar with. It sounds good now. My only problem is that I apparently broke half the tabs that hold the panel in place. Those old plastic tabs are fragile. If I have any trouble with the panel coming up, I will figure out another way to hold it down. For now, my walkman is back in service!
