is there really any difference in sound between these two? I know the RV-B90 is the first gen model in 1998 and the NB1 was made in 2004 & plays MP3 disc but other then that was the first gen one made better? also now there is a Sharp GX BT9 that one is Bluetooth & can play files from usb is that one any good or are the JVC Kaboomboxes better? is the first gen kaboom worth getting or should i just stay with the NB1 or go with the new sharp BT9? i hear mixed reviews of the sharp so I'm not sure what to think as I've never heard it in person. let me know what you think thanks
I doubt anyone has heard all three to compare but just going by weight, the Kaboom is 20 lbs compared to 14.6 for the Sharp. I believe the Kabooms were 2-3x the price of the Sharp, without adjusting for inflation. Personally I think small speaker technology has grown a lot over the last 20 years and the smaller Bluetooth Speakers do sound better than 85% of vintage boomboxes but that's my opinion and the Sharp might be junk. The JBL's I've seen in person sound very nice and the builds are good quality. Radio Raheem used to be our resident Kaboom Expert, while he's no longer on here, his old threads might be helpful.
thank you for the reply i got the Sharp off of amazon for $80 because i wanted to try it out. I own the JVC kaboom RVNB1 & NB10w. when i get it i'll compare the two & let you know what i think of it & if i don't like it i can always return it.
