Hey everyone I'm new to the group. I've been collecting vintage stereo equipment for a few years. I've acquired some recently that I'm looking to get values for and possibly let go of. One of which is a 1982 JVC PC-6W brand new in open original box as well as the separate internal boxes and packaging. Has accessories and manual. Another is an Altec Lansing 871a Milano Speakers and original matching 855 Milano center console cabinet. It's currently paired with a great condition, fully functional Marantz 2275 receiver. Any information or interest would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Wow, awesome equipment!

JVC - $200+ who knows, never seen a boxed one before, maybe $800 on the high side, it's just a small pool of collectors for that, it probably goes for around $250 used (plus shipping). While these are very substantial boomboxes, the collector market is fickle because they aren't one piece. Personally I love them and have several of the JVC Compos. There was the Russian Seller, and now Israel, they seem to have a lot of mint or boxed units for silly money but never seem to sell much, at least on ebay.
Marantz - $2000+ probably the most sought after "common" Marantz Reciever
Altecs - $800-$4000+ I was recently gifted the very similar Flamencos and love the look of these. The whole cabinet system might be worth a small fortune due to rarity, can you shoot some photos of it opened up?

Here a few pictures with the center console cabinet open top and front. There is some equipment inside that's not currently in use and a Sony TC-580 reel to reel is mounted inside the top. Looks like there was once a turntable mounted to the right. Was purchased with all of it inside as you see it.

lovely setups, thanks for sharing

that cabinet in the bottom with r-2-r is amazing. what model turntable does fit in there ? was this combo custom-made ?

i also have one of those from the later 60'es, wich was custom-made, containing a TheFisher X-100a tube-amp, a Thorens124 tt and has a drawer wich had wires but was empty when i got it. nice mid-century design. i don't know (and don't think either) if it came with speakers same wood and can't imagine having anything as nice as those ALTEC you have there :worship:

    Hey autoreverser,
Thanks for showing interest and sharing. There's actually a full picture showing the whole altec milano speakers and center console cabinet set up. It all was originally made by altec in the early 70s. Originally there wasn't any equipment in the console when originally sold. A previous owner must have had an unknown turntable mounted inside. When I purchased this it has all the equipment still inside but I'm not using any of it. I have a marantz 2275 receiver and a technics turntable on top that are currently hooked up to the altec speakers. Sounds amazing.

The classic ball and chain, the speakers are worth a small fortune but the center cabinet has a much smaller buyer's pool. The conundrum is most people don't want the center unit but if you can find the right person, it is worth another small fortune. This is the only photo I can find of the center console, I know I have some old Altec Brochures around here that I'll check. The units also match, my Flamincos had a matching cabinet with wrought iron, there was a set on Reverb that sold for $3500 a few years ago.

That Sony R2R was a bonus, nice unit and I love how they used to hide the cool stuff.
