I haven't listened to them over the last couple years but I have some 80's albums recorded onto tape that also sound great. I was bigly into Maxell UD-XL II's, they were priced good in the two pack. I knew a local 3M Engineer that helped build their tape factories, he said BASF was considered the gold-standard back then.
